The main progress points concerned the detailed descriptions of the various port facilities and the platform itself (excavation and reinforcement of the banks and level areas, river facilities for loading and unloading, water development and ecological engineering projects, etc.). Alongside these “technical” studies, certain sectors that were as yet unmapped had to be defined more precisely in the interests of coordination with the various development projects around them. The final engineering design is scheduled for April 2014.
In October 2013, Ports de Paris obtained ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system. This system includes the process for creating new ports – which is applied to the Eco-port des 2 rives de Seine and the Port Seine-Métropole platform – and the process for operating existing platforms, which is applied to the Gennevilliers port.
On the strength of this certification, the Ecoport project is committed to conducting an annual audit throughout the creation process (design studies and construction work). The process should take a decisive step in spring 2014, when the administrative formalities move forward.
