In June, work on the steel frame of the Observatoire got off the ground… “Wood and chain-link” cladding will be fitted in the summer, along with the installation of stairs. Standing almost 12 metres off the ground, located at the edge of La Galiotte, the Observatoire will give visitors an elevated view of the expanse of the plain, the meander of the Seine and hills. The architecture of the Observatoire will echo that of the Maison des Insectes and feature a variety of shapes suggesting small dwellings. The architects were also keen to interpret the characteristic shapes of traditional houses, a type of accommodation present on both banks of the river.
